How to Connect Facebook Lead Ads

Summary

Overview: Connect your Facebook Page so people who fill in your Facebook Lead Ad forms become leads in Pippify automatically. The same connection also lets Pippin reply to Messenger messages, which you turn on separately.

Prerequisites:

• You are signed in as the workspace Admin.
• You have at least one Lead Scoring attribute in Settings › AI Studio. The connect button stays disabled until you do.
• You can sign in to a Facebook account that manages the Page.
• The Page isn't already connected to another Pippify workspace.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Start the connection

1. In the sidebar, go to Settings › Channels and click the Facebook tile. The Facebook card (captioned Lead Ads) opens below the tiles.
2. If the tile shows Set up lead scoring first and the card says Configure Lead Scoring first before connecting a channel., add a Lead Scoring attribute in Settings › AI Studio first.
3. Click Connect Facebook. The page goes to Facebook.

Step 2: Approve access on Facebook

1. Sign in to Facebook if asked.
2. Choose the Page or Pages you want to connect.
3. Approve the permissions Facebook lists. To use Messenger later, keep the messaging permission on.
4. Facebook sends you back to Settings › Channels, with the Facebook tile open.

Step 3: Check the result

1. Look for "Facebook Page connected successfully." under the tiles. Click the × to close it.
2. The Facebook tile and card show Connected, and the card lists each connected Page with its Page ID.

Verify It Worked

Success criteria:

• The Facebook tile and card show Connected, and the card shows your Page name.
• Submit a test entry on one of your Lead Ad forms. A new lead appears in the Inbox with the subject New Facebook Lead — and the person's name. The form answers show in the conversation.

Troubleshooting

Common errors

• "That Facebook Page is already connected to another workspace and was skipped.": the Page belongs to another Pippify workspace. Fix: disconnect it there first, then connect again.
• "Facebook connection was cancelled.": you closed or declined the Facebook screen. Fix: click Connect Facebook again and approve access.
• "Facebook connection failed. Please try again.": the connection didn't finish. A common cause is a Facebook account that manages no Pages. Fix: sign in with an account that manages the Page and try again.
• "Couldn’t start the Facebook connection. Please try again.": Pippify couldn't open Facebook. Fix: refresh the page and click Connect Facebook again.

Limitations & considerations

• Every Page you approve on Facebook is connected. Pages already connected to another workspace are skipped.
• To disconnect, click Disconnect on the card, then Yes, Disconnect (Disconnect Facebook? Lead submissions will stop being received until you reconnect.). This disconnects all your Pages and also stops Messenger.
• If a Lead Ad form has no email field, the lead is still created from the other answers.
