Summary
Overview: Deleting a lead removes it and its whole history from Pippify for good: messages, quotes, appointments, updates and notifications. If you only want the lead out of your way, archive it instead.
Prerequisites:
- You can see the lead on the Leads page. Sales Reps see the leads assigned to them.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Start the delete
Choose one way:
- Leads table: in the lead's row, click the red bin button in the Actions column.
- Leads board: on the lead's card, click the bin button.
Step 2: Confirm
- The Delete lead dialog explains that the lead will be permanently removed and cannot be recovered, including its messages, quotes, meetings and notes.
- Type DELETE in the box.
- Click Delete. To keep the lead, click Cancel.
Verify It Worked
Success criteria:
- The lead disappears from the Leads table or board, and from the Inbox.
Troubleshooting
Common errors
- The Delete button stays grey: the box doesn't say exactly DELETE. Fix: type DELETE in capital letters.
- "Could not delete this lead": the lead wasn't deleted. On the board, the card comes back. Fix: try again.
Limitations & considerations
- Deleting can't be undone. Archive the lead instead if you may need it later. See How to Archive or Unarchive a Lead.
- Deleting a lead also stops its follow-up sequence.
- If the lead was linked to a Bigin by Zoho record, Pippify won't re-create it from that record later.
- To delete a lead Pippin held for review, you can also use Ignore in the Inbox. See How to Check a Lead Pippin Held for Review.
- There is no delete button on the lead's page or in the Inbox conversation. Delete from the Leads page.
