Summary
Overview: You can delete a quote that hasn't been sent, such as a draft you no longer need. Deleting is permanent.
Prerequisites:
- You are a Sales Manager or the Admin. Sales Reps can't delete quotes.
- The quote has not been sent.
- The quote is not a costed quote.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Clear it from the Review Queue first (Pippin's drafts)
- If Pippin drafted the quote, it also has a card in the Review Queue.
- Open Review Queue and click Reject on that card, so the card leaves the queue.
Step 2: Delete it from the Quotes page
- Click Quotes in the left menu.
- Find the quote. At the end of its row, click the trash icon.
- In Delete Quote?, read This will permanently delete the quote. This action cannot be undone.
- Click Delete. Click Cancel to keep the quote.
Step 3: Or delete it from the lead's page
- Open the lead and click the Quotes tab.
- Click the trash icon on the quote's row.
- Click Delete in Delete quote?. Click Cancel to keep the quote.
Verify It Worked
Success criteria:
- The quote is gone from the Quotes page and from the lead's Quotes tab.
Troubleshooting
Common errors
- No trash icon on the quote: a quote that has been sent (including one the lead viewed) can't be deleted, and neither can a costed quote. Sales Reps see no trash icon at all. Fix: a Sales Rep asks a Sales Manager or the Admin. To withdraw a costed quote that is waiting for approval, reject it in the Review Queue instead.
Limitations & considerations
- You can't undo a delete.
- To withdraw a costed quote, reject it in the Review Queue. It stays on the Quotes page.
- If you only want to drop unsaved edits, use Discard on the quote page instead. It doesn't delete the quote.
