Summary

Overview: Pippify turns a costing's net costs into a sell price using the version's pricing rules: exchange rate, markup, buffers, bank charge and rounding. You can refill costs from your Supplier Rates, change the rules for one version and check the result in the side pane.

Prerequisites:

  • A costed quote is open and its version is still a draft.
  • The costing has at least one program with costs (see How to Build a Costing).

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Set the paying travellers

  1. In the trip strip, set Paying travellers (pax basis). Group costs such as vans and guides are divided by this number.
  2. Without it, Pippify can't price the group costs.

Step 2: Refill costs from Supplier Rates

  1. Click Actions › Re-price from rates.
  2. Read Refill every cost that came from Supplier Rates and every empty cost; costs you typed stay.
  3. Click Re-price. Pippify saves your changes first, then shows "Costs from Supplier Rates refreshed".
  4. Cells filled from a rate show a dot. Hover over it to see the rate, its amount and how long it is valid.

Step 3: Set the pricing rules for this version

  1. Open the side pane with the Show details icon.
  2. Click Pricing rules for this version. These apply to this version only. Your workspace defaults are on the Quotes tab of Settings › AI Studio, under Pricing.
  3. Set any of these:
    • Exchange rate and Exchange rate as of: needed when the cost currency and the sell currency differ.
    • Markup and Single supplement markup: choose Per day, per person, Percent of the price or Fixed amount, then the amount.
    • Buffer per person (twin), Buffer per person (single) and Bank charge per booking.
    • Round the sell price up to: the rounding step.
    • Cost currency and Sell currency: three-letter codes such as USD.
  4. To give one program its own markup, click More on the program bar, then Set a markup for this program. Click Use the version's markup to go back.

Step 4: Read the price

  1. In the side pane, the Price block shows each hotel set's Per person, twin/double price. For a range of travellers, it lists the price for each count and marks the (pax basis).
  2. It also shows the Single supplement and Our margin per person.
  3. For a services program, it lists each service's sell price.
  4. Click Show the breakdown to see each step: Costs per person, Private van, per person, Tour guide, per person, Buffer, the net in the cost currency, the exchange, Bank charge, per person, Our markup, Total and the rounded sell price.

Verify It Worked

Success criteria:

  • The Price block shows a price for each hotel set or service.
  • The Quotes page shows the price in the Price column, for example from USD 415 pp.

Troubleshooting

Common errors

  • "Pippin could not read the rates just now, so nothing was changed. Try again in a minute.": Fix: wait a minute and try again.
  • "Could not re-price the costing.": Fix: try again.
  • Set the exchange rate in a service's Rate column, or "Set the exchange rate from … to … in the pricing policy" under Checks: the cost and sell currencies differ and no exchange rate is set. Fix: enter the Exchange rate in the pricing rules.
  • "Set the number of paying travellers before pricing": Fix: set Paying travellers (pax basis).
  • Use a three-letter code such as USD: the currency code isn't complete. Fix: type a three-letter code.

Limitations & considerations

  • Re-price from rates and Regenerate with AI aren't offered for services programs.
  • Re-price from rates only works while the version is a draft and your workspace uses Costed quoting.
  • Costs you typed yourself are never replaced by Re-price from rates.
  • A service's rate is its net cost converted at the exchange rate and rounded up. No buffer, bank charge or markup is added to services.
